Nathan Sundberg

Overview
Nathan Sundberg is currently the Director of Percussion at Lone Star High School in Frisco, Texas. Mr. Sundberg opened LSHS in 2010 and has since built a program consisting of 3A, 4A, 5A, and 6A TMEA All-State Percussionist’s. He graduated, with honors, from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, La., earning a Bachelor’s of Music Education Degree and studying percussion extensively under the direction of Mr. Kenneth Green. While at Northwestern State University, he served as the Principal Percussionist of the Wind Symphony and as the Drum Line Captain.
As a performer, Nathan was a founding member of the WGI indoor percussion group Metro Alliance, based out of Dallas/Ft. Worth, serving as section leader in 2003 and 2005.
His drum corps experience began with The Cavaliers Drum & Bugle Corps (2005-2006), where he helped to secure the 2006 DCI World Championship as a featured soloist. After taking a year off to focus on other musical endeavors, he became a member of the Phantom Regiment Drum & Bugle Corps, helping to secure the 2008 DCI World Championship and the Fred Sanford High Percussion Award under the direction of Paul Rennick.
Mr. Sundberg holds professional memberships in the Texas Music Educators Association and the Percussive Arts Society. He is an Innovative Percussion (IP) Artist, proudly and exclusively endorsing IP sticks and mallets. Nathan resides in Frisco, Texas with his loving and supportive wife, Morgan, and their dog, Maxwell.
